About Me

Hi, I’m Steve….

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), a Professional Member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) and I hold a degree and Masters in Law. So now the boring bits are out of the way…

I’m a neurodivergent gay man who lives in a non-traditional relationship dynamic and have done for nearly a decade. I’m based in Oxfordshire but also see clients in-person in London or online anywhere else via Zoom or Google Meet.

I’ve spent more than 15 years working in social care across children’s and adults, mainly in safeguarding, and it was this work that helped shape my desire to help others through therapy and coaching work.

Prior to that, I’ve worked in a number of industries in the private sector (accounts, sales, retail, catering and the pub trade, to name a few) as I spent a long time bouncing around unsure of what to do. I was always in awe of people who have a plan from very early on but that was not me growing up, which I’m sure was in part due to my neurodivergence, which wasn’t diagnosed until I was an adult.

Growing up gay was no easy thing… although I’m not sure it’s any easier now despite how society has changed. Throw in neurodiversity, trauma and a few other things and I can say life wasn’t exactly smooth sailing.

All these experiences have taught me the value of empathy and acceptance that’s offered in a non-judgemental way, which is what I offer to my clients during our therapeutic work. This approach is also useful in coaching, which is really a form of goal-oriented therapy.

Ultimately, the only way you’re going to know if we’ll work well together is to get in contact.

There is a floating button on the site saying “Schedule Time With Me”. Just click on that and you can book in a slot in my diary for a conversation.

Alternatively, you can email me on the button below. I may take a couple of days to get back to you, particularly if it’s over the weekend.
